La Haine
Festival of the Imaginary : the Ciné-club with the Cinémathèque
‘Le Musée imaginaire d'Oli’ is first and foremost an exhibition designed to be lively and open to all, punctuated by events, concerts, workshops, performances, lectures and open stages. This is the spirit behind the screening of La Haine, the now cult film by Mathieu Kassovitz chosen by Oli from the treasures of the Toulouse Cinémathèque.
From the other side of the ring road to the sound of Sound of da Police mixed by DJ Cut Killer. La Haine: in the middle of the 1990s, a paving stone in the pond of French cinema. Vinz, Hubert and Saïd wander between the suburbs and the centre of Paris in the aftermath of a night of rioting. A social rift and a portrait of a lost generation. The film is aesthetically stunning, with a rare edginess and a searing assessment of the situation that is always relevant and topical. It's the story of a society falling apart... So far so good... So far so good... But the important thing is not the fall, it's the landing!
