I'M NO GOOD AT SPEECHES
Holding your place and your body through dance
DRAC-ARS project, ‘culture santé’ 2024
With the support of Toulouse University Hospital, Toulouse City Council, the Institut Saint-Jacques and the Hôpital Sourire association.

In 2023, an initial dance creation project took shape with 6 patients, 3 carers and 4 dancers from the La Colombe Enragée contemporary dance company. Entitled ‘For the first time’, this unique experience transformed those who took part. It was no longer ‘6 + 3 + 4 people’ on stage, but a collective of 13 members.
When the project came to an end, each dancer wanted to talk about the richness of the experience. But the words didn't come as spontaneously as the body movements: each story began with the phrase: ‘I'm not very good at speeches...’. The desire not to confine this first time to a single occasion was very strong. It allowed us to project ourselves into a new creation for 2024. The title was already there!
And so, in June 2024, 4 patients and 3 carers once again got involved with the dancers from La Colombe enragée. On 21 November, the creative process will be repeated, adapted to the space of Les Abattoirs, for a third and final performance.

IN THE SHADOW OF COMME SI...EVERYTHING IS SAID, EVERYTHING IS EXPERIENCED!
The INATTENDED...

are due to perform at the Musée des Abattoirs on 21 November 2024, to round off the Arts & Care Day.

They will be portraying characters who are perhaps just like them. A little, a lot, madly... Sensitive characters, who go through life shyly or shatteringly. Characters who also resemble us, in fact.
All these actors have one thing in common: they are psychiatric patients. At CHAC. They have formed a theatre group, supported by a team of care staff: a psychiatric doctor, a nurse and an art therapist. Each of them is involved in their own way in this extraordinary human adventure.
Going beyond the walls of the hospital and performing for an ‘ordinary’ audience is the new challenge for Les Inattendus!
