In Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, the GR10 trail and the route to Santiago de Compostela cross paths. In a quest for shared meaning, walkers immerse themselves in nature, freeing up time to think about the world. The works at Frac MÉCA play with these desires for research, sobriety and subtle attention to the landscape. They offer a space of emptiness sometimes, of mystery often, between images of nature, phantasmagoria, incomprehension and poetry. In the inexorable passage of time, a strange moment emerges when art gently inspires the desire for a new start, individual or collective, towards the unknown.
